Johnnie recently graduated from Elizabeth Seton High School with honors. She played volleyball for two years and started on the softball team for four years playing outfield and catcher. Over the past four years she made All Conference WCAC honorable mention, second team, and first team and was a one year captain. Most recently, in 2011, she was picked to be Capital One Athlete of the Week, First Team All-County, and Second Team All Met. She was a member of the National Honor Society and Ambassadors Club. Johnnie received the Citizenship Award during her junior year and graduated as a four-year honor student. She enjoys being active; jumping on the trampoline, swimming, running, playing pickup soccer, going to the gym- anything to get her out of the house and doing something. Next year she will attend Dickinson College where she will study Forensic Anthropology while playing softball.
Michelle Abolt is a recent graduate of St. Joseph by-the Sea High School in Staten Island, New York. She was a member of Senior Brothers & Sisters, Charity Dance Committees, Open House Committee, and an instructor at the schools Youth Summer Softball Clinic. She was a 4 year varsity member of the volleyball team and a 2 year varsity member of the softball team. For softball, she Team Captain in her sophomore year and led her team by pitching to a City Championship and was also named Team MVP. In her junior year, Michelle was a member of an undefeated state championship team, and in her senior year was named as the Most Improved Player. Michelle will be attending Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham in the fall where she will major in Mathematics-Actuarial Science and play softball for the Devils.
Alexa is a 2011 graduate of Manheim Central High School in Pennsylvania. She received Cum Laude academic honors and was a member of the National English Honor Society, Medical Careers Club, Yearbook Committee, and the People to People Student Ambassador program. Alexa played Varsity softball for four years and Varsity volleyball her senior year for the Lady Barons. For two years, Alexa earned softball honors as Team Captain, starting pitcher, Team MVP, High School County Athlete of the Week two times, and County Athlete of the Game three times. For four years she earned League All Star honors. In 2011 Alexa led her young team to a Section championship, League runner up, first time in school history PIAA District championship and AAA State runner up. Alexa began playing softball at age five and travel ball in 2006. Currently, she plays travel softball for the PA Shooting Stars, and over the years she played for the Razorbacks, Force, and Philadelphia Phillies Carpenter Cup Showcase teams. Alexa will be attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the fall where she will play softball and major in Health and Physical Education
Sarah is a 2011 graduate of Oakcrest High School and lives in Mullica Township, New Jersey. She played varsity volleyball for 4 years and was a team captain in 2010 her senior year. She played varsity softball for 4 years, was team captain as a senior, and earned All League and Press of Atlantic City honors each year, including 1st Team honors as a senior. Sarah also was awarded the school’s top female athlete honor. She was a member of the National Honor Society and the Oakcrest select and gospel choirs. She will attend the University of Mary Washington and major in International Relations or Pre-Law and play softball for the Eagles.
Jenn is a recent graduate from Padua Academy in Wilmington, Delaware. She was a member of the National Honors Society, Math League, Student Ambassadors, and Student Council. Over her four years, Jenn played varsity softball, field hockey, winter track and field, and diving. She was also the keynote speaker for the Senior Sports Banquet. Jenn was awarded with the Outstanding Senior Award, in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, as well as the St. Francis de Sales award. She graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA and was recognized for having the highest average in physics and engineering. Jenn will be attending the University of Maryland, College Park, in the fall, where she will be majoring in bioengineering.
Kristin is a recent graduate of Sussex Central High School in Georgetown, Delaware. During her high school career she maintained high honors throughout and was a four time Superior Academic Achievement recipient. She was a member, and Secretary of the National Honor Society. She finished high school fifth in her class, with a 4.16 GPA while taking 6 AP classes. Kristin was on Varsity Softball all four years and was captain her senior year. Her freshman year Sussex Central softball team was Delaware State Champions. In addition, she was a 2 time Most Valuable Player on her high school team, 4 time athlete of the week, and 3 time 1st team all-conference and 2nd team all-state pitcher. She was also a member of the Delaware South Carpenters Cup team in 2009 and 2010. In 2009, Delaware South was the champions. This past year in travel ball she received Most Valuable Pitcher at the 2010 Salisbury World Series. In her spare time she has volunteered for many places. Kristin will attend Washington College in the fall where she will major in history and play softball.
Danielle, a 2010 graduate of Newton High School in Newton, New Jersey, just completed her first year at Stevens Institute of Technology, where she is majoring in mechanical engineering. She made the Dean’s List and earned President’s List Honors for Student-Athletes both semesters. As a freshman, Danielle played second base for the Ducks and helped lead the team to the Empire 8 Conference Playoffs and the ECAC’s. Off the field, Danielle is a member of the Alpha Phi Omega Service fraternity and participates in numerous community service activities in and around Hoboken.
Jess will attend Kean University to major in Psychology as well as play on the Cougars softball team. She is a recent graduate of Washington Township High School in Sewell, NJ and a three year varsity softball player. Playing 3rd base and holding the team's highest batting average, she helped lead the Minutemaids to Conference and Group IV Championships. Her efforts were rewarded as she was selected as a 1st All Conference Player. Jess is currently playing for the SJ Lady Wildcats and working as a summer camp counselor. Jess has volunteered to help the AIDS Coalition of SJ, assisted at a local church with summer camp activities and participated in various fundraising activities that include hitting clinics, car washes and grade school dances. Jess is an exercise enthusiast, enjoys reading novels, listening to music and making people laugh.
Kaci graduated as a part of the Class of 2011 from Howard High School in Ellicott City, Maryland. Her senior year, she was the team captain, the Howard County Player of the Year, 1st Team All-Met in the Baltimore Area and 2nd Team All Met in the DC area. She also helped her team to be the 2011 County Champions, the 2011 Class 3A East Region Champions, and finalists in the Class 3A State Championship. In addition to softball, Kaci was on the Varsity Cheerleading squad where they placed 1st in the County, 2nd in the Region and 3rd in the State level of competition her senior year. Along with athletics, Kaci was involved with many theater performances, her high school’s improvisation team , her school’s Horizon Community Service Club and was consistently an Honor Roll Student. She will be playing softball with the Maroons while attending Roanoke College in the fall of 2011.
Christiana recently graduated from Eastchester High School in Eastchester, NY. She graduated with honors earning a 3.7 GPA. She played both basketball and softball throughout her four years of high school. This past year she was a captain for both the Varsity Basketball and Varsity Softball team. She was also an active member of the National Honor Society, National Italian Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, and the Habitat for Humanity club. Next year Christiana will be attending Southern New Hampshire University where she will be majoring in Elementary Special Education and playing softball.
Nikki will be entering her junior year at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. She graduated from Caravel Academy in 2009. She played varsity softball and varsity field hockey throughout her four years there, holding a 3.7 GPA or higher. Nikki also participated in Blue/Gold Club, National Honor Society, and Bible Club. A four year member of the softball team, she was a member of the winning state championship team her freshman year. Nikki was captain of the varsity team her senior year and also received Honorable Mention All-State. So far in college, Nikki has held a 3.8 or higher and has completed two years of D1 softball.
Stephanie is a recent graduate from Unionville High School in Kennett Square, PA. She has played three years of high school softball, and won first team all conference her senior year. She has also been a part of varsity field hockey and track and field. She has been involved in the SHOC mentoring program, the UHS Art Gala, and the UHS book fair. Stephanie will be attending Dickinson College this fall to pursue an undecided major as well as play on the collegiate softball team.
Emily is a 2009 graduate from Polytech High School and is currently attend Bethany College in West Virginia. She completed her sophomore year by making Dean's List both semesters majoring in Physical Education. Over the past two years she was named First Team All PAC, NFCA Third Team All Region, All PAC Tournament, PAC Pitcher of the week three times, and Student Athlete of the Month. 2010 was special because Bethany won their conference title and advanced to the NCAA Regional's. Emily was selected to play internationally this summer in Italy and played against the Italian National Team and other Pro softball teams. During the summer she is an assistant coach for the Delaware Diamonds and volunteer time to help with Milford Little League All Stars. In the future she hopes to become a Physical Educator and coach softball.
Melissa is a graduate of Half Hollow Hills High School West. She played five years of varsity softball and three years of field hockey while maintaining a 3.96 GPA. She achieved the High Honor Roll and was inducted into the National Honor Society. Melissa was the captain of the softball team for the past 3 years, and was named the team’s most valuable player in both her junior and senior years for softball. She was named to the All County softball team in her senior year and All Conference in her sophomore and junior years. She has also played travel softball for seven years, the last five with the Long Island Express. Melissa has been a 4 year member of the Hills West Varsity Club, serving as President last year. In April 2011, she was the key student organizer of a 3 day fund-raising event for a school staff member stricken with brain cancer. She was a 3 year member of Athletes Helping Athletes, a school organization that allows selected students to mentor elementary school students about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Melissa will be attending and playing softball at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.
Rachel graduated from Woodstown High School in Woodstown, New Jersey in June of 2010, where she was a three year member of the varsity softball team as well as a four year member of the varsity cross country team. Rachel was on the Salem County All Star Cross Country team three years, earned Tri-County Cross Country 2nd Team All-Conference and, with her team, earned the Cross Country Tri-County Diamond Division Championship in 2006 and 2008. She earned Softball Tri-County Honorable Mention All-Conference and was captain of the Cross Country and Softball teams her senior year. She was an active member in Key Club, FFA, French Club, Student Council, Peer Leadership and Circle Club. Rachel was the 2008 Salem County Fair Queen, 2010-2011 New Jersey FFA State Treasurer, and is on the 2011-2012 New Jersey FFA State Executive Board. She was an active Hoof beats 4-H member for eight years, and is a current volunteer foal sitter at the University of Pennsylvania's Newbolton Center, and the local senior citizen's home where she takes her pets to visit with the residents. Rachel played for the Salem Community College Lady Oaks this past year. She will receive her Associate's Degree in Health Science in the spring.
Sarah is a recent graduate of Neshaminy HS in Langhorne, PA, where she was a varsity starting pitcher for 4 years. During that time she was named All League 1st Team for 3 years, All Southeastern PA 2nd Team for 2 years and All State Honorable Mention 2 years. With her travel teams she has been an ASA PA State Champion twice and attended ASA Gold Nationals in 2010. She has maintained a GPA of 3.94 while taking part in such activities as the bi-annual National Honor Society blood drive, Interact Club, selling bracelets to raise money for the recent tsunami victims in Japan, tutoring fellow students in math and physics, and volunteer coaching at school softball clinics and camps. In September will be attending Princeton University where she will be majoring in physics and playing softball. Go Tigers!
Megan recently graduated as the valedictorian of Rhinebeck High School where she was a six-year member and two-year captain of the varsity softball team as well as a three-year member and one year captain of the varsity volleyball team. She was a member of the 2009 and 2010 Class C State Champion and 2011 Class B Finalist Softball Teams, and she was named the New York State Class C State Player of the year in 2009 and 2010. She has also been named the 2010 MHAL Pitcher of the Year, the 2009 and 2010 Poughkeepsie Journal Pitcher of the Year, and the 2009 and the 2010 Daily Freeman Player of the Year. Megan was also member of the 2009 and 2010 NY Section IX Champion Volleyball Teams. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Heartsafe Club of Rhinebeck, and volunteered at the Northern Dutchess Hospital and Starr Library. Also, she was named a 2011 National Merit Scholarship recipient and MHAL Senior Scholar-Athlete. Megan will be attending Colby College in the fall, where she has been named a William D. Adams Presidential Scholar. She plans to study biology or chemistry, and will play volleyball and softball.
Sarah recently graduated from Cicero- North Syracuse High School. While there, she was a 3-year Varsity Pitcher and competed in the 2010 and 2011 NYS Softball Championship. In 2010, she was named to All CNY Softball and sixth team All NYS, and in 2011 she was named All League, All CNY Softball, and recognized as a softball scholar athlete. She has played travel ball since she was 11 years old with the Renegades, and most recently the STPS Ponies. She has volunteered for several organizations including the Special Olympics, the Samaritan Center, and St Margaret’s Church. Sarah will be attending SUNY Cortland in the Fall to study BioMedical Sciences and play softball for the Red Dragons.
Jamie is a 2011 graduate from Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, NY, where she played shortstop for the Blue Devils. She was team captain and led the Blue Devils to their sixth consecutive NYSIAS title. Jamie received the award for Most Valuable Player, was named 1st team All-Ivy and 1st team All Brooklyn. At Poly she was inducted to the Oasis Society and was involved in Blue Key Society, Environmental Club, and Aids Awareness. However, Jamie’s passion is the teaching people with disabilities how to live active lives through sports. She has volunteered over 350 hours teaching our Wounded Warriors and physical and cognitively disabled children how to ski and snowboard. Jamie is now in training to become her visually impaired sister’s guide in preparation for the 2014 Paralympics games in Sochi Russia. In her mission to bring awareness and hope to families with disabilities, Jamie has written a book Through My Sister’s Eyes and is hoping to have it published by the end of the year. Jamie will be attending the University Of Notre Dame in the fall where she will major in Business.
My name is Rose Shaver and I am 18 years old from Waldorf, MD. I am a recent graduate of Bishop McNamara High School and an incoming freshman at Catholic University. I play softball for the Bayside Blues 18u remix team and will be part of the team at Catholic. I plan on majoring in nursing and eventually becoming a nurse practitioner. I want to travel the world and help bring medical attention to those in need. I live every day of my life as if it was my last.
Karina is a recent graduate from Easton High School in Easton, Maryland where she caught and played outfield for the Warriors. While in high school she won three Maryland State Championships and was a captain her senior year. She was a 2010 USSSA 18u World Series Champion as well as the tournament MVP. Karina graduated as a Scholar Athlete, a member of the National Honor Society, a Maryland Scholar and with honors. She will be playing softball for Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware where she will major in Psychology.
Katie is a junior at Wilmington University, where she is working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. In addition to pitching for the Wildcats, she is also a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) and a student representative to the Athletic Advisory Board. She has recently participated in several community service projects including a Toys for Tots toy drive, Make-A-Wish fundraisers, and a pen pal program with Townsend Elementary School. Academically, Katie holds a 4.0 GPA and was named a 2011 Capital One Academic All- American. On the field, she was the CACC Pitcher of the Year and was named to the First- Team NCAA Daktronics All East Region. In her spare time, Katie enjoys riding horses, going to the beach, and spending time with her family.
